Please Advise - Conical Curling Iron??

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was a bit tiring as I was at the cheerleading/ambassador try outs (only on Saturday but somehow I am still trying to recover) and I have photos that I'll show you in one of my next posts. (By the way, I totally used one of the bumpits in my hair at try outs, and it stayed and looked great!!!)

I need your advice. There is a fairly new tool on the market, which seems to be very popular in parts of Europe and Australia. I am talking about the Conical Ceramic Curling Iron. It is clipless and is shaped like a cone, which gives you the flexibility of achieving any size curls. This product makes the curling/waving process much faster. You simply wrap your hair all the way around and hold for just a few seconds, then release. Lollipop26 is known for using this product by Babyliss Pro (and her hair is so cute!)

I've looked everywhere: Ulta website, Sally Beauty Supply website, etc. I could not find anything like this anywhere. I have found similar products by Enzo Milano, but the prices are super high.
So now I turn to you beautiful ladies. Do you have any advice on where us ladies in the United States can purchase such a product? Is online the only option really? I would hate to spend over $100 for a styling tool (although I have done so when I bought T3 Hair dryer - amazing!).
Please let me know your thoughts!!

Yep, I've looked too and they are all EXPENSIVE. A company in UK sells them a lot cheaper, but I don't think our outlet plugs are the same as the ones in the UK. That was one of the warnings they put on the site. Let me know if you find one!!

nikkiga1530 - Yes, the outlet plugs are different in the UK so that wouldn't work. I know UK is usually much ahead of the US when it comes to trends and new products. I'm sure if we wait a while, we'll be able to find these easily and for a reasonable price...but I wish there was something now! haha

I completely agree with you! I've been searching and searching for one for about three months now! All I've found was one on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/Babyliss-32-19m-Conical-Wand-Free-Mat-Finger-Shields_W0QQitemZ200311659470QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_H_B_CurlingTongs_CA?hash=item200311659470&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177#ebayphotohosting

(But shipping I can imagine will probably bring the total way up)

I really hope these become available in the US! As for now i've just been wrapping my hair around a closed curling iron.. it works alright, but I've GOT to have a wand!

Lauren - That's actually a good find!! I went to the link that you provided and its really not that bad. With shipping including you would probably pay a little over $60, which is not cheap but definitely not as expensive as some irons that I've seen online.

My only concern once again is, would you be able to use this in the US since our outlet plugs are different than those in the UK? If you decide to purchase this curling iron, just check with the seller first. Let me know!!

Also, please see my eBay Haul post.

I just bought this today because I saw it on the sunday advertisements at walgreens for $30.00.

Id never heard of it, but remembered watching loliipop26's video, so i bought it!

I must say that I have zero experience with curling irons, just flat irons, it was easy to use, but noticed that my hair slides around it a lot. Hopefully with more practice, I'll get the hang of it.

It did do a good job on waving my hair though.

I just bought one at Trade Secret in Washington for $50 by Hot Tools (I love their irons), I don't know if that store is everywhere in the states or not though?

I love it already!
